Letter to the Editor: Time Has Come

To the Editor:
For over 25 years, the Crystal Lake Library Board, the library staff and citizen’s advisory groups have been considering alternatives and options and have analyzed them from pillar to post.! They have investigated all possibilities and, in the meantime, have been very frugal in the use of your tax dollars.
What can be done to improve the existing library has come to an end. The time has come to build a new structure – one that can serve our needs for the future – before construction costs increase.
We need more study rooms (we now have one), and the Ames Room where programs are held has been carved up and reduced in size with each renovation.
We need a flexible meeting space to serve our community’s needs.
Also needed is a disability-accessible building and one that provides up-to-date technology.
Please vote “yes” for your library and for your community.
